The wedding ideas that you’ve probably not thought about

When it comes to planning a wedding, there is a lot of information to process and it can be hard to remember every last detail. Admittedly it’s made a lot easier if a wedding planner is involved, but if you’re going it alone, creativity can sometimes be lost in the worries of the details.

While videography is our specialism, over the years we have witnessed many weddings and stumbled upon ideas that we would never have had ourselves. We’ve popped some of our favourites in this list and here it is - a menu of things we would never have thought of.

Candles // There’s something purely romantic about vows that are undertaken by candlelight and we’ve seen them used beautifully in a number of weddings. They add a warm and delicate light to any affair and immediately invoke an old school air of romance. Our top tip would be to create unique and individual mason jars, customising each one to suit the table on which it will sit and then pop a little tealight inside. For added sparkle, chose mason jars of different colours and watch the light flickering on the walls.

Culture, culture, culture // Every single one of us has an inherited culture, aspects of life that tie us to our communities or quirky traditions that our families have collected along the way. We love seeing this incorporated into people’s wedding days. Whether it was a dance display created by a tribal or community dance troupe, Welsh cakes used as desserts or interesting splashes of colour, the incorporation of culture into a traditional service has always gone down well. Stumped for cultural wedding ideas? We previously wrote a post about traditions from around the world, so we’ve got that covered.

Include pets in your ceremony // Here at Full Focus weddings, we always enjoy a quirky wedding and we are also animal lovers, so it stands to reason that we love watching the two combine. We recently worked with a wonderful couple named Hayley and Dan and watched in awe as Hayley’s horse was incorporated into the ceremony, take a peek at the video below. Whether it be a trick-performing rabbit or a ring bearing dog, weddings are all about family. So why not include those furry little friends and give your guests something to remember.
