Unobtrusive, Discreet Filming Style
When I'm filming, I like to be unobtrusive and discreet. I know that people may feel a little unsure or uncomfortable when they're being filmed, and it's important to me that people remain relaxed while they're on camera.
So, I use equipment that is as silent as possible and try to give the subject of my wedding films plenty of space. For example, when shooting an emotional moment or a private conversation between two people, I'll remain still in one spot from afar so as to blend in with my surroundings.
This way, I'm able to capture natural reactions and emotions without making them feel awkward or self-conscious about being filmed.
I also take extra care to blend into my surroundings as much as possible when shooting an important moment or a private conversation between two people. For instance, if I'm filming a couple's wedding ceremony, I make sure that the focus is on them by staying in one spot and remaining still while they exchange their vows.
That way, the bride and groom can soak up every emotion and cherish the special moment comfortably without feeling interrupted by intrusive filming techniques. Essentially, it's a documentary style with cinematic results.
Moreover, I make sure to schedule enough time before each shoot so that we can discuss what needs to be filmed and go over any questions or concerns they may have with regards to being filmed.
This ensures that everyone involved is on the same page and has time to get comfortable with me being around with a camera in hand. It also means that when it comes time for filming, everyone knows what needs to be done and will be more likely to forget about my presence altogether which leads to an even better outcome for my videos overall!
