Lyndsay & Daniel | A nonsuch Mansion wedding
12.04.22
It was such an honour to be able to capture Lyndsay & Dan’s magical day. Here’s their story…
Feature
Why did you pick your venue, and what makes it special to you?
We used to live around Nonsuch Park and we regularly took walks through it, as well as Lyndsay used to do the Park Runs held there on a Saturday. When we used to walk around there, we would almost always comment on how beautiful Nonsuch Mansion was and how wonderful it would be to get married there (note, we weren't even engaged at this point!) We viewed it as soon as we were engaged though and loved it; but decided to view other venues around Surrey but we couldn't help keep thinking about Nonsuch and comparing each other venue to it. We couldn't help but choose the Mansion!
It's a real honour to have been chosen to capture your special day - thank you! We would love to know why you chose us - what is it about our work that you like?
We found you through scrolling on Instagram and our Photographers had posted something either on their main grid or stories and thought we'd take a look. We'd been searching for a Videographer for a while and everyone we saw or met at shows seemed to want to put loud, pumping music to the video and whilst it looks nice; it just wasn't us. We wanted a video that matched us and remind us how beautiful the day was. And then we binge-watched your portfolio and was like "finally!" We really love that the music is non-verbal, the sounds of the day and words said on the day are included as part of the music. Honestly, it brought a tear to Lyndsay's eye and Dan couldn't help but say "Yes! We've found them!"
What is important in life to you?
Our little family unit is the most important thing to us; keeping each other happy, healthy and overall supported.
What is a typical Sunday/day off together like for you?
"Now my perfect Sunday..." Guess the film reference. A typical Sunday for us is 100% comfortable clothes, (may include pyjamas), chilling out around the house and if the weather is good; we'll take a walk across Epsom Downs as we're very lucky to have this on our doorstep.
How did you meet each other?
We met in a pub - classic! Lyndsay worked behind the bar & as all social beings do, Dan and his friends ended up talking to Lyndsay and getting to know each other. We exchanged numbers & the conversation started with Dan sending a text "Hey, I'm at the pub, why aren't you here?" And the rest is history, as they say
How about the proposal? Tell us everything! :-)
We headed to London to watch Aladdin, the matinee performance, which was always a big thing we did (pre-pandemic!). Afterwards, started to stroll around looking for dinner when Lyndsay spotted the Harry Potter book she needed to replace in a bookstore. So, after being at the theatre and Lyndsay happily swinging her HP book, Dan got us to Victoria Gardens & proposed in a little alcove in the gardens behind the Savoy.
Why did you choose each other over anyone else?
We didn't! There wasn't anyone else in the picture as we both we're looking for someone, but the universe had other ideas
How do you think your partner makes you better?
We're a great mix of things; one thing that balances us out is, Lyndsay is super organised and Dan is a laid back character. Each other's ying to yang.
What part of marriage do you think will be the most challenging?
Remembering to put on that ring everyday!
What's the one thing you've never done but dream of being able to do one day?
We'd love to go to New Zealand (more Lyndsay's dream but with Dan added activities!)
What makes your partner unique?
We're both old people in young bodies LOL!
If you could describe your partner in 5 words, what would they be?
Dan to Lyndsay: Organised, caring, thoughtful, funny, and beautiful Lyndsay to Dan: Caring, Smart, handsome, loving, and playful
Tell us about your wedding plans so far - anything you would like to mention (including fears, what excites you, etc.)?
Plans are coming along nicely; mostly because we're trying our very best to be chill about things. Especially things we can't plan! It's more like a Wedding Preference, so we're ready for all those hiccups we hear about LOL. We're super excited to eat the food, second to actually getting married of course; but once you eat, you'll understand why we were so excited .
What sort of music do you like, and who do you listen to on a regular basis?
We love a mixture of music, from Green Day, Biffy Clyro to Ed Sheeran & George Ezra. Dan regularly listens to Radio X whilst Lyndsay is a Absolute Radio listener.
In terms of style, look and feel, how would you summarise your wedding day?
We'd say we've gone minimal for beauty and elegance. The feel we're trying to go for is chilled and loved.
Finally... why are you marrying each other?!? :-)
We'd say tax reasons, but that doesn't even apply to us! We're getting married because we would love to step into the next chapter as Husband & Wife, and continue on the rest of our lives together as a married unit.
