It was such an honour to be able to capture Hannah & Nick’s magical day. Here’s their story…

Why did you pick your venue, and what makes it special to you?
We picked Graduate Hotel Cambridge as our venue because of its location - by the river Cam! We love nature, so want to have some form of connection with it. The room also has direct access to the garden. As we are having a relaxed and informal reception, we are hoping the weather is nice so we can hop between the two spaces.
It's a real honour to have been chosen to capture your special day - thank you! We would love to know why you chose us - what is it about our work that you like?
Andy's work is simply stunning. It is sentimental, joyful, passionate, full of emotions and I think it is the perfect style for me and Hannah. I particularly like the overlay of the speeches and the thought of music that give the video a cinematic feel. Andy is also a truly friendly and warm character. He has been a pleasure to deal with and I am impressed with his high quality professionalism. He made us feel very comfortable and relaxed from the get-go, so I know he will blend seamlessly on the day!
I truly look forward to working with Andy.
What is important in life to you?
Besides each other, our friends and family are most important to us! Each and every guest has a special place in our hearts. We like to spend our down time hanging out with eachother, friends and family. Of course, I also appreciate my own hobbies such as fitness and don't see myself ever letting go of that lifestyle.
What is a typical Sunday/day off together like for you?
While most Sundays involve church and some house chores, we like it to be relaxed but also reserve some time for each other or with our friends/family. In summer, we like to be outdoors as much as possible such as going for a nice walk or a picnic. Otherwise, we like to go bouldering and dinner with our friends.
How did you meet each other?
We met in Sydney, Australia through mutual friends. We were only acquaintances for a few years until we met again at a mutual friends birthday party in Manly. I asked for her contact details and began talking. Hannah was living/working in Canberra while I was in Sydney, but we would meet up each time she visited Sydney. We eventually started dating and did long distance for a while. and decided to move to Canberra. The moving didn't stop there... Hannah moved to the UK and I followed 1.5 years later.
How about the proposal? Tell us everything! :-)
After being separated by the pandemic, I managed to secure a job in the UK during the pandemic. It was after the first lockdown, and it was her b'day so we decided to go somewhere near for a day trip. We went walking along the beach and exploring Holkhom in Norfolk. Towards the end of the day, when the sun was setting and a nice backdrop of deer, I decided to surprise her with. It was a special and intimate proposal with nobody but us (and some deers). Luckily, I brought a camera with me to capture the moment.
Why did you choose each other over anyone else?
Hannah is so down to earth, relatable and has an amazing heart. We were just comfortable with each other's company and our relationship just grew so naturally. We make each other happy without the need for presents or surprises. We know we're the one for each other when we feel the same love for each other after 7 years. We also share a lot in common and can appreciate each other's humour and personalities.
How do you think your partner makes you better?
I want to be the best version of my self for Hannah. Hannah deserves the best and therefore it is my hope to ensure she is happy, loved and cared for in the dearest of ways. I reflect a lot in our relationship and always try to improve myself.

What part of marriage do you think will be the most challenging?
Having a family one day will be a tough job. Being an adult in general. Making decisions together will be slightly harder I imagine. We hope to continue making time for each other too when life gets busy.
What's the one thing you've never done but dream of being able to do one day?
Well I'm not the most aspirational person... I am a simple man and dream of exploring the world with Hannah, the bucket list is expanding... but I mean one of my dreams was getting together with Hannah let alone marriage so this is a dream come true for me! I'd never thought I'd move cities or countries.
What makes your partner unique?
Hannah is a very considerate and incredibly caring. She is genuine and down to earth. We have lots in common and will never get bored of each other. She has cared for me like no one other than my mum.
If you could describe your partner in 5 words, what would they be?
Down-to-earth, intelligent, honest, responsible and dedicated.
Tell us about your wedding plans so far - anything you would like to mention (including fears, what excites you, etc.)?
The original plan was to have a wedding in Hong Kong and a second reception in Australia but with the Pandemic it's been challenging to achieve those plans. We decided to get married here in our hometown of Cambridge. We've lived here long enough for it to be meaningful and have a base of friends who we can invite, albeit not as much as it would've been.
We are having a "smaller" wedding with our family, close friends, church fellowship and colleagues. The ceremony will be at our regular church. When we were exploring venues we didn't get our first choice but ended up with a lovely second option at the Graduate Cambridge where I think it's truly special because it's besides the river Cam. We think our venues being so central, our international guests will be able to experience the most and best of Cambridge.
We have been pretty chill up to now but I imagine i'll get very nervous on the day. One of my fears is public speaking so I'm definitely going to be nervous for that. I also dislike being the centre of attention and I think Hannah is the same. Nonetheless, I look forward to getting married to Hannah and a life we can spend forever after.
What sort of music do you like, and who do you listen to on a regular basis?
I like pop, rock, jazz and electronic dance music. Apparently my most listened-to artist is Kygo. I would have to say my favourite band is U2 though.
Hannah shares similar taste but she's really into K-Pop these days.
In terms of style, look and feel, how would you summarise your wedding day?
Our wedding day style and look will be simple and practical. There will be soft and pastel coloured flowers decorated inside the venue. It will not be overly decorated. The church will only have flowers on the altar/steps behind the officiant. We have hired some outdoor furniture for the reception with a natural and rustic look so people can wander outside for some nice scenery. The day will hopefully feel informal and relaxed for our guests, bringing out the happiest and best of everyone.
Finally... why are you marrying each other?!? :-)
We are marrying each other because we feel a strong connection and sense of commitment to one another. She makes me so happy (and I would like to think the same for her). After 7 years of dating, our love is stronger than ever and can confidently say "she is the one".
