It was such an honour to be able to capture Lizzy & Dave’s magical day. Here’s their story…
TEASER
Why did you pick your venue, and what makes it special to you?
It's a nice, unique venue near Cambridge (where we live), with some military connections - Dave used to be in the Army. It was also the first venue we looked at - we liked it so much, we booked it as soon as we could.
It's a real honour to have been chosen to capture your special day - thank you! We would love to know why you chose us - what is it about our work that you like?
We really liked your videography style, and it was useful to know that you had worked at the venue, and with out photographer previously.
What is important in life to you?
Spending time together. Making the most out of life, and enjoying it. New experiences such as travelling to new and exciting places, or trying new things.
What is a typical Sunday/day off together like for you?
Mostly wedding planning at the moment. Sometimes we like to relax and watch shows together. We often go out for walks, or try to venture to new places. We often try to spend time with nieces, nephews and the rest of the family.
How did you meet each other?
Lizzy is the sister of Dave's friend from school. We both went to the same school, but Lizzy was about four years below. We started talking late 2015 after both coming out of other relationships, and things blossomed from there starting in 2016.

How about the proposal? Tell us everything! :-)
We went on holiday to the Cotswolds in May 2021, in the short break between lockdowns. Dave had already bought the ring back in December 2020, but was desperately trying to find an opportunity to propose somewhere other than the living room! He had booked a few stops on the way to our AirBnB near Stroud, not knowing exactly where he was going to propose, but after a few stops that didn't quite seem right, they arrived at Croome just outside of Gloucester, where he stopped in the Temple Greenhouse looking onto the main house, which he pointed out to Lozzy, he got down on one knee, and as Lizzy turned around, asked her to marry him. Just then, a couple of swallows that were nesting in the greenhouse flew around our heads.
Why did you choose each other over anyone else?
Lizzy chose Dave because he instantly made me feel comfortable, and once we started talking to each other we couldn't stop! He's kind, thoughtful, gentle and generous and I can't imagine my life without him now. Dave chose Lizzy as she's beautiful, funny, caring and easy-going - a hard mix to find! :) She understands him and accepts him for who he is.
How do you think your partner makes you better?
We both complement one another in a variety of ways, and we build on each other's weaknesses with the other's strengths.
What part of marriage do you think will be the most challenging?
We've lived together for five years now, and things have always felt easy together, despite many challenges already. We don't feel like marriage will be a significant difference, but will help us feel more closely connected.
What's the one thing you've never done but dream of being able to do one day?
We don't have kids yet, but I'm sure that will be the next step/adventure/
Wedding Breakfast speeches
What makes your partner unique?
What makes Dave unique is his positive attitude and his determination once he sets his mind to something. No idea is ever too big and he's not afraid to think outside the box. Lizzy is an incredibly caring person, who always manages to think from someone (or something!) else's perspective. She always puts others first and that's a really unique characteristic, that makes her a fantastic nurse and a very loving partner.
If you could describe your partner in 5 words, what would they be?
Words to describe Dave - energetic, positive, gentle, generous and kind. Words to describe Lizzy - beautiful, caring, open, loving, excitable.
Tell us about your wedding plans so far - anything you would like to mention (including fears, what excites you, etc.)?
We've got most of it planned now (I think!) we just need to find a few final bits and put the finishing touches on things. Lizzy is most scared about walking down the aisle and being the centre of attention and she is most excited about seeing friends and family and finally meeting Dave's American friend's that are coming over for the wedding. Dave's most scared about getting a great reaction to his speech and not getting too drunk too early(!), and most excited about seeing everyone we love in one place.
What sort of music do you like, and who do you listen to on a regular basis?
We're both pretty eclectic, but we enjoy a mix of dance/house and pop on a regular basis as well as some of the old classics.
In terms of style, look and feel, how would you summarise your wedding day?
We have opted for a traditional and generally elegant style, with an attempt to mix some modern and military twists in. We've focused on the important things - entertainment, food and plenty of drinks.
Finally... why are you marrying each other?!? :-)
Because we love each other very much and couldn't see a life without one another.
