Lauren & Adam | A braxted park WEDDING

It was such an honour to be able to capture Lauren & Adam’s magical day. Here’s their story…

Why did you pick Braxted Park, and what makes it special to you?

For us Braxted Park was the perfect choice.  We researched a significant number of wedding venues in Essex, but found that the stunning views, church and venue all on one site, a 'grand' feel to it,  fantastic driveway that builds anticipation of the event and spectacular pavilion set it apart from all the other venues.  It's got everything you'd want really.  The pavilion in particular is a great space, as this is where the wedding breakfast, speeches and really nice dancefloor are,  very spacious and we really like the layout of the room.  From a visual perspective and in terms of footage, the drive way and outdoor shots are really important to us.

For us it was a combination of different factors.  We warmed to your honest and personable approach, we particularly liked your professionally produced, high quality edits and felt your professional presence online and experience  gave us confidence of capturing the day to the best possible standard.  We also felt your pricing was very competitive against similar industry professionals.  Being a Southend fan is also a great notch on the CV in Adam's book!!

What is important in life to you?

Honesty, Loyalty, Integrity and a desire to fulfil our potentials in our careers, family life and personal lives are values we both hold in high esteem.  Adam's passions include his music career as a Singer/Songwriter, he has a keen interest in health and fitness including competitive sports such as Running, and Football. He is and always will be a Southend United fan.  He holds Lauren, his family and his close lifelong friends as his dearest possessions! Lauren 's passions  are her dancing both as a performer and a teacher to the next generation, she enjoys arts and crafts and is very creative.  

What is a typical Sunday/day off together like for you?

Chance would be a fine thing!! When we are not gigging or working, we both enjoy nice long walks in nature and a nice roast dinner (or a takeaway if Adam gets his way!). 

How did you meet each other?

We met at an open mic night, or 'Live Lounge' night as it was called, at the Ivory Rooms in Billericay in 2013.  Adam offered Lauren a pineapple juice (as he used to like this for his voice before singing), Lauren responded with:  ''Only if you put some Malibu in it' and the rest, as they say, is history!!

How about the proposal? Tell us everything! :-)

Adam surprised Lauren with a spa break in Ebbsfleet for her birthday.  Adam convinced Lauren that getting the early train to Kent via London would be a more effective and time-efficient mode of transport on a Wednesday morning than to drive over the QEII Bridge!! As the Eurostar train stop to Ebbsfleet approached, Adam confirmed that in actual fact they were heading  to Paris! Adam had many nervous moments trying to get the ring through security, as the Paris attacks had unfortunately unfolded a week before.  Trying to get the security guards to understand it was a ring whilst not getting Lauren's attention was challenging to say the least and had Adam hopping between toilet to toilet during the day!! However, eventually Adam took Lauren to dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant and just before sitting down for their reservation, he took her aside to a spot on the tower they had stood some 4 years before and popped the question.  Fortunately, she said yes!

Why did you choose each other over anyone else?

Lauren chose Adam for his sense of humour, his chatty nature, mutual interests and his cute little face!! She also liked his big hair!! Adam chose Lauren for her big blue eyes, her passionate approach, her loyalty and genoristy, and her ability to support him in his goals/interests.  

How do you think your partner makes you better?

Lauren says that Adam always makes her feel better when things are wrong and is always there to solve her problems!! Adam feels that Lauren has helped him to become more organised, done some very impressive work to improve his somewhat lethargic time-keeping and helps to see things from a different perspective.What part of marriage do you think will be the most challenging?

Daily struggles I guess. 

What's the one thing you've never done but dream of being able to do one day?

Lauren would love to travel to Las Vegas and Australia.  She would love to become a Hollywood star!  Adam's dream is to be the most successful singer/songwriter the world has ever produced! He'd like to be held in the same esteem as his idols Oasis.  Adam also has aspirations to run an Ultra-Marathon and perhaps even try to break some sort of record for running one day.  He would have loved to pull on the famous Southend United shirt and represent his boyhood club, but it looks like his time may have passed for this! He would settle for seeing Southend United one day gracing the Premier League in a fantastic new stadium in the town instead!

What makes your partner unique?

Lauren says Adam's hair style and fashion are very unique - very vintage and very rock 'n' roll! She says its quite rare to find a man who is good looking and also has a good personality.  Adam says that Lauren has a very distinctive look and firmly believes she could achieve her dream of Hollywood with that look! He believes her eyes are beautiful and she has a strong personality and sense of independence that he admires. 

If you could describe your partner in 5 words, what would they be?

Lauren for Adam: Funny, Charming, Confident, Personable & Handsome

Adam for Lauren: Passionate, Thoughtful, Creative, Aesthetic, Independent

Tell us about your wedding plans so far - anything you would like to mention (including fears, what excites you, etc.)?

Lauren is fearful that Adam won't make it on time!!  She is very excited to see her husband put the ring on her finger to secure the marriage.  She is also looking forward to partying, boogying and celebrating with our nearest and dearest.  Adam is not particularly fearful, he just wants everything to run smoothly on the day.  Adam is excited to finally be able to call Lauren his wife, he is looking forward to sharing the special moment with everyone close to him and is excited to see how much Lauren enjoys that day that all girls dream of!

What sort of music do you like, and who do you listen to on a regular basis?

We tend to have mutual musical interests, but specifically:

Lauren: The Beatles, Oasis, The Overtones and Lady Gaga

Adam: Oasis, Goo Goo Dolls, The Beatles, Rock music 60's-90's

In terms of style, look and feel, how would you summarise your wedding day?

It's a very music orientated theme (eg. table names are our favourite albums).  We're not extravagent - but we consider our taste to be very unique and not a traditional style.  For us it's more about the people we have invited enjoying our big moment and to hopefully capture some great photos/video to look back on some great memories we will be making.  

Finally... why are you marrying each other?!? :-)

Because we love each other, to become husband and wife rather than partners, because there is nobody else we want to spend the rest of our lives with!
